Phil with his horses

Welcome to Moorgate Farms!

We are a small family farm located 60 rolling acres here in southeast Iowa. We named our farm after visiting England many years ago and viewing many similar farms that had the look and feel of what we were trying to create. We loved the English farm names, and ended up choosing "Moorgate" as the name for our farm. Our logo depicts how we view our farm. Rolling dales and hills, with a gate leading to the future of land stewardship and sustainability.

We believe in agricultural diversity, and have much on our farm that supports that. We raise purebred Icelandic sheep, heritage chickens, bees and Percheron draft horses. Our farm is certified organic, and we grow a variety of vegetables for market on 1.5 acres.

Check out our farm and our farmstore for more!

In good health,

Phil & Marjorie Forbes
